Clinical Laboratory
Ourlab staff provide services patients and their doctors need tounderstand their health. With a doctor’s order, patients can getservices to help with a diagnosis or monitor illnesses. We also provideroutine mammograms.
Cardiology
We offer regular outpatient clinics with Consultant Cardiologists so that you don’t have long to wait for an appointment.
A range of cardiac tests are available in our Outpatient Clinics and Diagnostics Centre including:
- Blood pressure monitoring
- ECGs
- Holter monitoring
- Zio Patch
- Echocardiograms.
We diagnose and manage patients with a variety of cardiac conditions including:

Nuclear Medicine
Union Medical Care is home to state-of-the-art nuclear medicineequipment, and our nationally recognized experts use this technology tohelp determine the best treatment plan for your child. Nuclear medicine,which uses small amounts of radiation for diagnostic purposes andlarger amounts for therapy, is a powerful tool in diagnosing andtreating a wide array of conditions in children. These include cancer, sports injuries, congenital heart disease and more.
Radiology
Our Radiology program usesthe latest high-resolution imaging technology to accurately diagnoseinjuries or diseases in people. Our goal is to diagnose our patients condition as quickly, conveniently and safely as possible.
Low-dose radiation and radiation-free imaging
Our goal is to minimize or eliminate our patients radiation exposure. We use procedures that we developed that both eliminate radiation exposure and improve our diagnostic capabilities. For example, we recently developed a way to test for vesicoureteral reflux, a kidney condition that impacts up to 10 percent of children, without radiation. We also pioneered the use of PET/MRI instead of PET/CT scans in pediatrics, minimizing our patients’ exposure to radiation, eliminating the need for separate appointments, and providing more accurate diagnoses and treatment options. In addition, we participate extensively in the Image Gently campaign, which seeks to reduce radiation exposure in pediatric imaging nationwide.
